ZEROL® Polyol Ester (POE) Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Lubricants

Shrieve is able to offer a wide variety of ZEROL® ESTER lubricants for both mobile and stationary applications. They consist of a complete range of synthetic refrigeration and air conditioning lubricants based on polyol ester (POE) technology.

POLYOL ESTER OIL

Zerol® POE lubricants are specifically designed for use in HFC air conditioning and refrigeration systems, where chemical and thermal stability ensures optimized operating performance, Zerol® Polyol esters offer the low water and TAN (Total Acid Value) specifications required for long service life of POE/HFC systems.

Polyol esters provide high levels of wear protection for contact surfaces for longer system life and system efficiency. Zerol® POEs are miscible with HFCs over the required broad temperature ranges of commercial/industrial systems.

WHAT REFRIGERANTS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH POE?

Polyolester oil is most commonly used in refrigeration compressors that utilise refrigerants R-134a, R-410A or R-12. The specific combination of R134A with POE oil as the lubricant is a standard industry replacement for R12 with mineral oil as the lubricant. POEs generally are designed to provide excellent HFC miscibility, and therefore excellent oil return from the evaporator to the compressor, and may be utilised with a wide range of HFCs.

These synthetic lubricants are formulated for performance in refrigeration and air conditioning compressors using HFC, CFC or HCFC refrigerants. They are chemically and thermally stable for cleaner operating performance and provide wear protection for contact surfaces for longer system life and system efficiency. They are miscible over the required broad temperature ranges of commercial/industrial systems.

ZEROL® ESTER offers excellent electrical insulating properties as required for use in hermetic systems.

WHAT MOBILE AND STATIONARY APPLICATIONS IS OUR POE GREAT FOR?

POEs are structurally designed to offer excellent miscibility with HFC type refrigerants, as such they are highly versatile lubricants for all HFC based systems. Polyol Esters may be used in mobile R134A systems, whether belt driven or hybrid/electric, and also in a wide range of stationary applications where HFC refrigerants are used, include domestic and industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Their structural design ensures they are available in a wide range of viscosities (ISO VG 22 – 220) to suit all compressors types.
